This year I went to Toronto in Canada for a week, and I have to say for shopping there are endless opportunities. It’s one of the best shopping cities I’ve ever been to. You can find all types of shops, everything from malls to small boutiques to the biggest designer brands. It all depends what you are looking for. I have a few recommendations if you planning to go an a shopping spree in Toronto’s Shopping Districts.
Eaton Centre
We stayed at a hotel just next to this mega mall which is located in the middle of Toronto and it actually took me two whole days to go through the shops in there. The Eaton Centre has over 230 shops and it’s open all week. It’s a perfect place to spend a rainy day. They have shops like Lacoste, Club Monaco, Mango, H&M and La Senza and much much more.
Queen Street
Queen Street reminds me a lot of New York’s Soho. It’s known as the fashion disctrict of Toronto. There are hundreds of funky boutiques with the latest innovative design of shoes and clothes. This was definitely my favourite shopping place, not just because of the clothes but also the people and the cozy cafés and restaurants. And if you are looking for interior design, this is the place to go! Here I even found a shop with designed clothes for dogs.
Yorkville Avenue
This street reminds me a lot of New York’s 5th Avenue with the top designer shops. If you can afford to spend money, this is the place for you. The have shops like Chanel, Prada, Tiffany & Co, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, French Connection and so on. You get the idea. Definitely a place where you can get a lot of inspiration if anything.
Kensington Market
This area feels like a multicultural mix with shops and people from all over the world. The markets sells all kinds of things and it’s fun just walking around and looking. There are everything from hippie to buddha shops and you never know what you might find. I think this is a place you definitely must see and if you continue walking you will hit Chinatown.
Yonge Street
They say this is the longest street in the world, and I have to agree. Walking along this street, which is one of the oldest streets in Toronto, you can find everything from clothes, shoes, electronics, bags, art, books and more. Here you will find a lot of people and if you still have some energy left I suggest you walk along this street cause you will find many interesting places.
