The fall has arrived and there are some new trends that is just neccessary for our wardrobes. If you haven’t done your fall shopping yet, here are the top 10 must haves for fall 2009.
1. Faux fur
This fall Faux Fur, aka fake fur, is a big trend. They have been cropping up a lot lately, from the runway to the street looks. They can now be found in stores everywhere like Topshop and Zara. You can get a fluffy faux fur jacket with a pair of skinny jeans or a nice dress. Even a nice faux fur vest would go nice with a floaty blouse or tee before the winter weather starts.
2. Over the knee boots
The over the knee boot is a trend that might need some more guts but definitely a must have. You can find them in so many different styles and I’m sure you will find one that suits you. You can wear them over leggings, skinny jeans or with a nice dress.
3. Leather jacket
The leather jacket has always been a hot item for the wardrobe, but this year it’s hotter than ever. You can go for a cropped jacket with three quarter sleeves or longer lenghts. There are endless or styles and colors and what’s great about this jacket is that you can wear it with almost anything, a hot dress or just a loose tee.
4. Prominent shoulder
We have seen this trend on the runway many times this year and at first I have to say I didn’t really like it. But as soon as I saw Balmain’s spring collection I fell in love with it. It has definitely become a must have for the fall. You will find the prominent shoulder with jackets as well as dresses.
5. Sequin
Sequin is back. I never thought I would see that again for a long time. But it’s here and it’s super hot! Our biggest fashion designers like Balmain, Alexander McQueen and Michael Kors have done them in beautiful creations and we can finally find them in our stores. It’s definitely a great item for a night out!
6. Military jacket
This trend is one of my favourites for fall 2009. The military jacket also called the Michael Jackson jacket is one of the biggest trends this year. Balmain was the very first to show these jackets last spring. Now we can see them being worn by celebrities and in the latest collections of H&M, Zara and Mango and more.
7. Cardigan
Cardigan for me has always been a must have, but this year is a really hot trend. The cardigan looks great on any body shape since there are so many styles and it works for any age group. A style I really like is the asymmetrical cardigan which can be worn with jeans or leggings. It’s an item that can be worn for work, class and even for the weekend.
8. Colorful handbag
Make the fall a bit more colorful this year and get a chic colorful handbag. It’s a nice way of adding a touch of color to your accessories. Go for a hot and trendy color of the fall like purple, cyan, wine red or blue.
9. Platform pumps
Pumps was trendy even last year, but this time it’s back with a bit of a platform. The platform pumps adds a little bit more sexiness to your outfit and goes with a daily look as well as a hot dress for a night out.
10. One shoulder dress
The one shoulder dress has been seen a lot this year and it’s definitely a must have for this fall. You can find sexy one shoulder dresses and tops in various fabrics and styles.
