Many celebrities want to increase their presence in the media and come out with a new perfume or a new bag collection which is the actual job of all the people around them (managers, PR agents). She might have had some input, but it might be she mostly gave her name to it and found another way to leverage her fame. After all, if you are not a very good singer, you can always start another career and use your name for it.
