Alexander Wang is renowned for his urban street style with a combination of the 80’s hip-hop and the 70’s chic style. His signature style is the model-off-duty look with his ready to wear pieces like ripped boyfriend jeans, cozy cardigans and vests. Alexander Wang was born and raised in San Francisco with a American-Chinese family heritage. When he was 18 he moved to New York to attend Parsons School of Design. While studying studying design Wang got an internships at Teen Vogue, Marc Jabobs and Derek Lam. By his sophomore year in 2005, he launched his first collection with his label Alexander Wang with perfectly made cashmere sweaters with elements of street fashion. In 2007 Wang launched his full womens collection, which was selling in over 200 shops around the world followed by another collection in 2008. The same year Wang got nominated for a 2008 Council of Fashion Designers of America in womens wear. In 2009 he was announced as the winner of the CFDA Swarovski Womens Wear Designer of the Year.
