Paris Fashion Week which has held from 30th September to 8th October is one of the biggest fashion weeks of the year. The Paris Fashion Week shows the top fashion designers of today with designers like Alexander McQueen, Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, Balmain, Chanel, Christian Dior and many more. Here’s a summary of the top designers showing off their Spring 2010 collections. Which collection was your favorite this year?

Alexander McQueen has created an interesting collection with the sea inspired outfits. McQueen is known for his outrageous runway shows didn’t let us down this time either.

It seems to be a wave of celebrities this year trying to become successful in the fashion industry. The Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan showed off her very first collection for Ungaro at the Paris Fashion Week on Sunday which she designed together with fashion designer Estrella Archs to bring some more attention to the upcoming collections of the fashion house. Estrella used to design for Nina Ricci in the past. “I feel like it’s pretty much a fairytale, I couldn’t be happier. Seeing everything pulled together, is simply amazing. The last five days have just been so crazy, chaotic. And this is just so amazing after working all night, this week in the office together until 1 a.m. and 3 p.m., seeing everything pull together. I feel so honored. I can’t wait to be involved again, to be more involved on the next collections, to continue to please people, add more to the designs, to shock people…” Lindsay told People Magazine.

Their collection consists of a lot of plunging necklines, short dresses and an obsession of pink. They definitely didn’t hold back on the colors on this collection. The collection has received mixed reviews some saying that it was painful to watch and that they expected to get more of the essence from Lohan’s style but that it came rather tacky and uninspired. I can’t say this collection was very impressive with the overdone colorscheme and the very very short dresses. Collections should be inspiring and creative but this just didn’t inspire me at all. Last week the London Fashion Week 2009 was held and there was a swirl of parties and celebrities. Prime Minister Gordon Brown and his wife, Sarah, started by hosting a few cocktails to celebrate the London Fashion Week’s 25th year. From then on, we have seen celebrities non-stop for all the runway shows to check out the new collections for 2010 on the front row. There was British celebrities like Emma Watson, Victoria Beckham and Cheryl Cole as well as some stars from accross the pond like Kate Hudson, Goldie Hawn and Kanye West. Names like Vivienne Westwood, adidas by Stella McCartney, Burberry Prorsum, Ballantyne, Temperley London, Maria Francesca Pepe, Jenny Packham and Antonio Berardi were shown on the catwalk just to mention a few.

Sugababes at the Fashion for Relief show which was organized by Naomi Campbell for the White Ribbon Alliance, a charity devoted to saving lives of pregnant women and newborn babies in the Third World. Many celebrities participated as catwalk models in this show, as well as Naomi herself. Well done Naomi!
